NexGen Utility Sales Welcomes Casey Koonce as Territory Sales Manager

[Forest, Virginia] - We’re excited to announce the newest addition to the NexGen Utility Sales team: Casey Koonce, who joins us as a Territory Sales Manager with a wealth of industry expertise and a passion for solving complex problems in the electric utility sector.

Originally from Eastern North Carolina, Casey was drawn to the utility industry by one simple truth: power is the most critical need in modern society. That belief set the foundation for a career rooted in innovation, reliability, and engineering excellence.

After studying Civil Engineering at NC State, Casey began his professional journey as an engineering intern at Siemens. What followed was a remarkable 16-year career at Siemens, where he served in diverse roles spanning engineering, project management, business development, and product line management. During this time, he gained hands-on experience with circuit breakers, switchgear, and transformers, working with utility, industrial, and nuclear customers.

Now, as Territory Sales Manager at NexGen, Casey brings a deep engineering background and experience across both factory and field operations. His technical knowledge and customer-facing experience make him a strategic asset for supporting our utility customers and growing our manufacturer relationships throughout the region.

What excites Casey most about this role? The opportunity to solve problems, serve customers with integrity, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the electric utility industry.

Outside the office, Casey’s passions are grounded in faith, family, and the outdoors. He’s been married to his wife Kelly for nine years, and they’re proud parents to two sons - Daniel and David. Whether he’s fishing, playing disc golf, hunting, or just enjoying time with his family, Casey brings the same intentionality and energy to his personal life that he does to his professional one.

And here’s a fun fact: if you hear someone speaking in a British, Australian, or Southern drawl - it might just be Casey. He’s got a hidden talent for speaking in multiple accents that always keeps conversations interesting.
