Territory Sales Associate

NexGen Utility Sales is an experienced professional manufacturers’ representative of electrical power products. However, we are “A Customer Service Company First”, that happens to offer each of our customers personalized engineering services to align them with our manufacturers’ products and services. We also specialize in identifying emerging technologies and bringing vetted solutions to our customers. Our customers include Investor-Owned Utilities (IOU’s), Municipals, Cooperatives, energy producers, project developers, contractors, and Renewable Developers.

Sobre el rol

As a Territory Sales Associate, you will play a key role in supporting our sales team with product knowledge, technical insights, and customer service. This position is ideal for recent graduates of trade or technical programs - or individuals with hands-on experience in the utility, electrical, or construction industries - who are interested in building a long-term career in sales.

Objetivo

  • Build a foundation in customer engagement and sales processes while applying your technical knowledge.

  • Apply your technical and field knowledge to help customers solve challenges.

  • Gain exposure to industry trends and product innovations.

Funciones esenciales

  1. Assist senior TSMs in customer visits, presentations, and relationship building.

  2. Provide product and technical support in collaboration with manufacturers.

  3. Help troubleshoot customer challenges and communicate solutions clearly.

  4. Attend trade shows, training sessions, and site visits to expand industry expertise.

  5. Participate in structured training and mentorship to develop sales skills.

  6. Support administrative tasks such as reporting, CRM updates, and scheduling.

  7. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Competencias

  1. Technical or trade knowledge with interest in learning sales processes.

  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  3. Strong customer service mindset.

  4. Organizational and time management skills.

  5. Curiosity to learn and ability to adapt.

  6. Ability to travel up to 40–50%.

Calificaciones y experiencia preferidas

  1. Trade school certificate, associate’s degree, or equivalent technical background.

  2. Hands-on experience in utilities, electrical trades, or related industries.

  3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365; CRM experience a plus.

  4. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  5. Excellent communicator with positive attitude and energy.

Habilidades Especializadas

Well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player. Strong listening and communication skills with ability to hold an audience with customers.
